Northern Leadership Center

The Northern Leadership Center seeks to establish nationally recognized leadership training and development programs.

The NLC is the face for leadership initiatives at UAF, assisting with leadership outreach and university leadership activities. The NLC offers an environment and support for emerging leaders to develop their leadership potential and enhance their lifelong educational experience. The NLC fosters collaboration between academic, co-curricular, and professional development programs, encouraging leadership development throughout the institution.

  • Provides leadership courses through the College of Business and Security Management (CBSM)

Leadership Minor

The purpose of the Leadership minor is to strengthen the abilities of UAF graduates to lead and contribute effectively in both the public and private sectors. The minor consists of a choice of two out of three core leadership courses offered through CBSM and three additional courses from among a choice of electives across multiple disciplines. Leadership minor tracks are available in 成人影片 Native Community, Business Administration, Communications, Military Science, Outdoor Leadership and Political Science.

Courses Offered

BA/LEAD 470: Leadership Theory and Development
Offered in the spring semester of even numbered years

This course gives 成人影片 a guide for interpreting leadership theory and research while offering practical advice on how to be a better leader.

BA/LEAD 472: Leading Change
Offered in the fall semester of odd numbered years

The course is designed to explore some of the technologies for intervening in organizations to develop their capacity to achieve change. The emphasis in the course is to apply the concepts and theories of change management from a leader鈥檚 perspective.
