Trip Description: 

Classes are cancelled on January 20th in observance of MLK day. Therefore, we are offering an opportunity to get off campus and spend the day on the hill. We'll depart from OA and ski from bell to bell. Whether a newer skier or a seasoned expert, Ski Land has something to offer everyone. We'll coordinate the transportation to and from the mountain, but you are free to ski independently while there. 

Schedule:

  • 8:30am - Meet at OA, load up and head to Ski Land
  • 9:30am - Arrive at Ski Land and head to the rental office to get gear
  • 10:00am - Lift starts spinning
  • 4:30pm - Last run, return rental equipment
  • 5:15pm - Return to campus
  • 6:15pm - Arrive at OA

Things To Bring:

  • Ski jacket
  • Ski pants
  • Warm puffy jacket
  • Wool or synthetic base layers
  • Wool ski socks
  • Warm winter gloves
  • Buff or neck gaiter 
  • Money for rentals and resort food, if desired
  • Snacks and/lunch 
  • 2L water
  • Daypack

Outdoor Adventures can supply equipment in bold.

If you have your own skis/snowboard, you're welcome to bring it. Otherwise rental equipment can be acquired from OA (prior to the trip) or the Ski Land rental shop (day of) . THE PRICE OF THIS TRIP DOES NOT INCLUDE RENTALS!

Refund Policy:

Payment in full is required to sign up for a trip.  A 100% refund is available if you notify the Outdoor Adventures office of the cancellation more than two weeks (14 days) before the first day of the trip.  Cancellation one week to 3 days (13 to 3 days) before the trip entitles the participant to a 50% refund. No refund is provided if the participant does not show up or cancels 2 days prior to the trip.

 

Safety and Risk Management:

Due to the nature of outdoor travel there are certain inherent risks in all of Outdoor Adventures’ trips.  Acceptable risks include but are not limited to: winter temperatures, falling while skating. Conditions may include temperatures-20F or colder, snow, sleet, high winds and very low wind-chill.  Driving risks may include slick, icy roads, poor visibility and wildlife.  ³ÉÈËӰƬ is a wild place - you need to take ultimate responsibility for your own safety as only you can. For your protection we require you to carry health insurance.  You can purchase insurance for $2.60/day from the University (ask for details).
