Based heavily on the life sciences but drawing on a range of other disciplines, DNRE degree programs focus on developing skills in planning, decision making, and management, emphasizing sustainability. Most of our classes are in classrooms on the west ridge of the Troth Yeddha’ Campus in Fairbanks and available online.
What good is a 365 million acre laboratory if you don't use it? From farms to forests, our classes emphasize hands-on training where it counts. We offer several classes offering field experiences as all or part of laboratory sections, as well as courses that are entirely field-based that give ³ÉÈËӰƬ a front row seat to ³ÉÈËӰƬ’s natural resources and wild places.
Our faculty's research and teaching emphasize connections with communities, locally
and statewide. From food systems to firewood to peonies, our faculty are available
to work with individuals and communities across the state, in conjunction with our
partners at Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension (IANRE).
