Three Minute Thesis preliminary heat
This Thursday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m., UAF graduate ³ÉÈËӰƬ will compete in a Three Minute Thesis preliminary heat .
Three Minute Thesis (3MT) celebrates the exciting research and scholarship conducted by graduate ³ÉÈËӰƬ around the world.
Developed by the University of Queensland in Australia, 3MT competitions allow ³ÉÈËӰƬ to share their work with a broad audience in three minutes or less using only a single PowerPoint slide. 3MT promotes ³ÉÈËӰƬ’ academic and professional communication skills, and increases ³ÉÈËӰƬ' capacity to explain their scholarship while engaging and entertaining a general audience. Spectators can support UAF graduate ³ÉÈËӰƬ while learning about their research efforts.
Finalists will advance to the event finals and compete for cash prizes in person at Schaible Auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. Finals will also be on Zoom and streamed to Facebook Live. There will be a reception to follow the event to celebrate 3MT participants.
The winner of this event will be eligible to compete at the 3MT regional competition next spring.
