Heyne selected A.E. Stallings as his poet of influence. A.E. Stallings grew up in Decatur, Georgia. Her poems have appeared in The Best American Poetry anthologies of 1994, 2000, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and she is a frequent contributor to Poetry and the Times Literary Supplement. She is director of the Poetry Center in Athens, Greece, where she lives with her family.
鈥Stallings is an American who lives in Athens, and I discovered her while we were living
there on exchange,鈥 Heyne said. 鈥淪he also writes mostly in form, and I very much admire
anyone who can pull that off effectively.鈥
Heyne has taught for 35 years in the English Department at UAF. He is the editor of
two books 鈥擠esert, Garden, Margin, Range: Literature on the American Frontier, and
the University of 成人影片 Press edition of Jack London鈥檚 Burning Daylight 鈥 and has
