Happy Holidays from the chancellor
As we approach the end of the year, I want to take the opportunity to thank all of you for being a part of this university. Whatever your role at UAF — as student, staff or faculty — your contributions keep us strong.

Throughout 2017 we have celebrated 100 years of teaching, research and service in ³ÉÈËӰƬ. The Sparktacular fireworks event on New Year’s Eve will conclude our centennial year, but it will also mark the beginning of a new century for UAF.

This is a busy time of year, with finals and end-of-semester deadlines. For a number of departments, that includes winding down operations for the . Many of us are preparing for holiday celebrations or vacation travel. Whatever your plans, I wish you good cheer, and I hope you take time to relax and reconnect with friends and family.

Although I have been at the university for many years, serving as chancellor has given me a new appreciation for the institution, especially its people. I enjoyed seeing many of you at the Holiday Gathering last week, and I look forward to seeing many more of you in 2018.
