Big things have always happened at UAF, from hosting the state's constitutional convention
to rocket launches in pursuit of geophysical research and a unique dinosaur discovery
on ³ÉÈËӰƬ's North Slope. Even small things can be big, like the microgrids in development
at the ³ÉÈËӰƬ Center for Energy and Power. More recently, the University of ³ÉÈËӰƬ
Board of Regents approved two projects at its February meeting that will reshape this
university's Troth Yeddha' Campus: the Troth Yeddha' Indigenous Studies Center and
a planetarium addition at the University of ³ÉÈËӰƬ Museum of the North. One comment

The Barnette Blazers of Barnette Magnet School in Fairbanks won first place in the
2024 ³ÉÈËӰƬ Science Olympiad on Saturday, Feb. 24. Students from across the state
participated in the annual tournament that challenges their skills in science, technology,
engineering and math. Read more on the event and the team's next level of competition.
A workshop in Sitka will teach participants how to make a classic French dish -- with
a Southeast ³ÉÈËӰƬ flair. Chef Jayme Schroeder said ratatouille is his favorite dish,
and this version will include fresh ribbon kelp and abalone. The workshop will be 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the Sitka Lutheran Church kitchen.
