Troth Yeddha' update

The Troth Yeddha’ Indigenous Studies Center is UAF’s primary fundraising initiative, and an embodiment of UAF’s strategic priority to strengthen our position as global leaders in ³ÉÈËӰƬ Native and Indigenous programs. Recently, the UAF Chancellor appointed a user committee composed of faculty, staff and ³ÉÈËӰƬ to help inform the design and floor plan of the facility.

UAF scientists lead Arctic section of State of the Climate report

University of ³ÉÈËӰƬ Fairbanks scientists at the International Arctic Research Center are among world experts leading the State of the Climate report, which summarizes global environmental conditions in 2021. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration scientists compile the annual report, which was published Aug. 31 by the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.

Arctic Fest events scheduled for Sept. 1

Join a celebration of the ³ÉÈËӰƬ, alumni, directors, and staff of theÌý in an exhibition of artwork for Arctic Fest at the UAF Art Department Gallery from 5-7 p.m. You can also catch a free performance by Indian Pete and the Band of Fiddlers in the Regents' Great Hall also from 5-7 p.m. Staying in the Regents' Great Hall, you can attend a pre-festival discussion around some of Arctic Fest’s themes led by UAF professor emeritus Michael Castellini starting at 7 p.m. Traveling to the Murie Auditorium, you can join the UAF English Department’s Midnight Sun Visiting Writers Reading Series hosts writers ÌýandÌý for an evening of literary readings also starting at 7 p.m.

BLaST equipment funding opportunity

The Biomedical Learning and Student Training program invites from investigators at the University of ³ÉÈËӰƬ Fairbanks (all campuses), the University of ³ÉÈËӰƬ Southeast (all campuses), IḷisaÄ¡vik College, ³ÉÈËӰƬ Pacific University, Salish Kootenai College, Diné College, and Fort Lewis College for the purchase of equipment to support student biomedical research training by the Oct. 2 submission deadline.
