H.W. Brands to Speak at UAF: A Historic Evening on America’s Role in WWII

The UAF Department of History is honored to host acclaimed historian H.W. Brands for an insightful lecture on Friday, March 21st, 2025. The event, titled “America First: Roosevelt Vs. Lindbergh in the Shadow of War,” will take place at the BP Design Theater from 5:00 to 6:30 PM AKST, with a virtual attendance option via Zoom. This event is free and open to the public.

H.W. Brands, one of America’s foremost historians, will explore the intense debate surrounding the U.S. entry into World War II, analyzing the perspectives of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and famed aviator Charles Lindbergh. H.W. Brands is a distinguished professor and historian, holding the Jack S. Blanton Sr. Chair in History at the University of Texas at Austin.
